Beginners Luck

I had been gifted my first DSLR whilst travelling around the USA. Whilst staying at a friends in Las Vegas a lightning storm started to build over the suburbs. We set up the camera and tripod outside on the street and set a 3 second exposure and continuously pressed the shutter hoping to capture images of the forked lightning. After a few attempts I had timed the capture just right capturing this striking image with the lightning illuminating the houses and the palm tree. It is still one of my favourite images to this day!
